UTC to IST conversion: Indian Standard Time is UTC+5:30, so add 5 hours 30 minutes to any UTC or GMT time. London is UTC+1 during British Summer Time and Central Europe UTC+1 or UTC+2. The Kalinga Times converter below handles all three, plus Unix timestamps.
Runs in your browser on its IANA time zone data, so UK and EU daylight saving is applied for the date you pick. Nothing you enter leaves your device.

Unix timestamp to IST
A Unix timestamp counts seconds since 1 January 1970 00:00 UTC. To read it in India time, convert to UTC and add 5 h 30 min; the second box in the converter does this, and also accepts millisecond timestamps (13 digits). In a spreadsheet: =A2/86400+DATE(1970,1,1)+5.5/24, formatted as date and time.

Is GMT the same as UTC?
For converting clock times, yes: both are UTC+0. London only differs from UTC during British Summer Time, when it is UTC+1.
What is CET to IST?
India is 4 h 30 min ahead of CET (winter) and 3 h 30 min ahead of CEST (summer, late March to late October).
Does IST change in summer?
No. IST stays at UTC+5:30 all year; only the European side changes.
