Ranjib Biswal reelected president of Odisha Cricket Association

Cuttack, Aug 17: National selector Ranjib Biswal was reelected president of Odisha Cricket Association on Sunday. Ashirbad Behera was reelected as Secretary of the Association.

Biswal defeated his lone rival Pradip Chauhan, former treasurer of OCA, by … Votes. He was first elected as president of the organisation in 2004.


Of the 153 total members of the Association, 147 cast their votes. One vote was found invalid.

Biswal won the post by bagging 99 votes, while Chauhan polled 47 votes.

Behera became the secretary of OCA for the third consecutive term. He defeated his lone rival Anand Chandra Naik, former vice-president of the organisaton. Behera polled 121 votes while Naik got only 26 votes.

Satya Mohanty, former joint secretary, was elected as treasurer of the Association.

Prominent members who cast their votes in the elections include Pyari Mohan Mohapatra representing Union Sporting Club, Higher Education Minister Sameer Dey (Sun Shine Club), Ranendra Pratap Swain, MLA (Rover's Club), and Chiranjeebi  Biswal, MLA (Town Club).
