Malkangiri(Odisha), July 12: The 14-day-long search operation in Balimela reservoir at Alampekka to rescue the greyhound jawans of Andhra Pradesh has come to an end with the recovery of the last dead body on Saturday.
With this all the 38 dead bodies have been fished out, police sources said.
The jawans had gone missing after a motor launch carrying 66 persons sank in the reservoir when Maoists attacked it on June 29. Twenty-eight persons were rescued.

Earlier, the capsised launch was successfully retrieved by the divers of Indian Navy from the reservoir by using the balloons brought from the Singapore.
Meanwhile, reports indicated that the ‘water ambush' was engineered by the top rank cadres of Andhra–Orissa Border Special Zonal Committee (AOBSZC) of the Maoists operating in the region.
Whatever the case, it is evident that certain omissions of security precautions by the police enabled the Maoist's to mount the ambush successfully.
The way the Maoists attacked the boat leaves no doubt that they had information about the movement of the force.
It appeared as if the Left wing extremists were waiting for the Andhra Pradesh security personnel's to fall in their trap at Alampekka, a small mountain inside the reservoir.
